James and I went out to the Simi Computer User’s Group meeting today for a linux demo by Orv of SCLUG, and the cybercop lecture by my old mod-squad hacker chick friend from Moorpark. She works undercover as online girlfriends for hacker boys on IRC and reports them for naughtiness. She says she doesn’t report her friends or people she likes, though, and she also doesn’t really like it.

She’s way paranoid, like all traffic to her system needs authorization. She’s not much of a techie, though… and she talks herself up a lot more than she deserves. Shoulder surfing a password is NOT hacking… And if she’s really bouncing her connection through payphones, I’ll install FreeBSD!
