Personally, I think its neat the way windows will suddenly decide (mid file transfer) that it no longer is going to acknowledge your NIC. Just completely wipe that little fact from memory. Its even better when you reboot and it decides to install the driver for an “unknown device” rather than just using the driver you already installed for it. This is just something that Linux can’t match. There’s nothing unpredictable about the way Linux behaves. If something goes strange, there’s a reason for it. A logical deductive explanation; if a then b. Windows makes people think outside the box (hidden reference: black box vs white box). Windows keeps people on their toes! This is why windows is so popular… Besides, its hard to claim you aren’t working because of a computer failure when your computer doesn’t fail…
