My job is very diverse….

Sometimes I stop weblogic and start it again right away. Somtimes I stop it, delete something, then start it again… and sometimes I stop it, start it, and then run a script.

I have previously had experience with weblogic and it was very stable… The reason for my distress here can be found at http://www.day.com. I feel it is somewhat telling that the logo for “Day” is apparently an eclipse.

Class politics in the world of warcraft

Politics has again reared its ugly head in WoW… The “nerf bat” has struck in beta and my beloved warlock class was the recipient.

It bothers me that the solution to imbalance issues is for people to cry out for the more powerful class to be brought back down to everyone else’s level. Its the same issue I have with tiered income tax. People should not be punished because they are successful or lucky.

If you suck and can’t beat me, that isn’t reason for 10% of my +damage gear to no longer have any effect… No, that’s reason for someone to propose that you be made into a stronger class, dumbass.

I suppose some will say that I should unpack my knapsack of demonic soul-eating privilege or some such crap, but screw that. I have never supported a nerf (even against the zomgwtfbbq “overpowered” hunter class), and I never will.

Conservative Warlocks, FTW.

“Subway Superman” gets a free bus pass

“Autrey, whose knitted cap was brushed with grease and dirt from the train passing overhead, played down his daring act as he accepted the Bronze Medallion — for exceptional citizenship and outstanding achievement — from Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

“Along with the civic award, Autrey was also given a year’s worth of free rides on New York’s subway and buses, then met with real-estate mogul Donald Trump, who gave him a $10,000 check, along with two other checks from undisclosed donors.”

NY Film University also gave him $5000 and offered scholarships for his daughters.

This is, by far, the best news story I’ve seen in a LONG time.

candy bar blues

Dude, today sucks so much that when I decided to give in and get a candy bar, I ended up with a milky way instead of a snickers… milky way does not satisfy you. it doesn’t claim to satisfy, nobody thinks it does… Bah, fuck you vending machine and you too milky way.

No matter what happens, at least we got that post office naming thing handled…

http://www.cnn.com/POLITICS/blogs/politicalticker/2006/12/109th-congress-success-at-naming.html

Despite criticism for adjourning last week without acting on several major legislative initiatives, members of Congress can boast significant achievements in at least one area of federal lawmaking — naming post offices.

Of the 383 pieces of legislation that were signed into law during the two-year 109th Congress, more than one-quarter dealt with naming or renaming federal buildings and structures — primarily post offices — after various Americans.
