“Subway Superman” gets a free bus pass

“Autrey, whose knitted cap was brushed with grease and dirt from the train passing overhead, played down his daring act as he accepted the Bronze Medallion — for exceptional citizenship and outstanding achievement — from Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

“Along with the civic award, Autrey was also given a year’s worth of free rides on New York’s subway and buses, then met with real-estate mogul Donald Trump, who gave him a $10,000 check, along with two other checks from undisclosed donors.”

NY Film University also gave him $5000 and offered scholarships for his daughters.

This is, by far, the best news story I’ve seen in a LONG time.

Dude, today sucks so much that when I decided to give in and get a candy bar, I ended up with a milky way instead of a snickers… milky way does not satisfy you. it doesn’t claim to satisfy, nobody thinks it does… Bah, fuck you vending machine and you too milky way.

No matter what happens, at least we got that post office naming thing handled…

Despite criticism for adjourning last week without acting on several major legislative initiatives, members of Congress can boast significant achievements in at least one area of federal lawmaking — naming post offices.

Of the 383 pieces of legislation that were signed into law during the two-year 109th Congress, more than one-quarter dealt with naming or renaming federal buildings and structures — primarily post offices — after various Americans.
